FMCSA Hearing Exemption Renewals - July 2025

Summary

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has renewed hearing exemptions for interstate commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers who have met all required conditions for continuation of their exemption. These renewals align with FMCSA’s standard 2-year medical certification cycle.


Exemption Effective July 1, 2025

FMCSA has renewed the exemption for:

  • Tyjuan Davis (VA)

This exemption is effective July 1, 2025, and expires July 1, 2027.


Exemptions Effective July 30, 2025

FMCSA has also renewed exemptions for the following 17 drivers:

  • Selwyn Abrahamson (MN)
  • Amin Ali (OH)
  • Vicente Carreon (AZ)
  • Daniel Cohen (VT)
  • Elezar Contreras (IL)
  • Stephen Goen (GA)
  • Calvin Gousby (TX)
  • Michael Hoyt (OR)
  • Thomas Lipyanic (FL)
  • Michael Loschen (MI)
  • Ismail Muse (UT)
  • Jonas Pittman (NC)
  • Troy Rolland (TX)
  • Sandy Sloat (ND)
  • Jeffry Webber (OK)
  • Richard Whittaker (FL)
  • Rebecca Yeater (FL)

These exemptions are effective July 30, 2025, and expire July 30, 2027.


Exemption Validity

Each exemption is valid for two years from its effective date unless revoked earlier. FMCSA may rescind an exemption if the driver fails to meet its conditions, if safety is compromised, or if continuing the exemption no longer supports FMCSA’s safety objectives.
