Brandon Thomas Londo - Deaf Trucker Trailblazer
Brandon Thomas Londo, a 2007 graduate of the Wisconsin School for the Deaf, achieved a significant personal milestone by earning his commercial truck driver's license and realizing his dream of driving large freight vehicles.
Mr. Londo’s journey has since inspired many. During a visit to the Rocky Mountain Deaf School in Denver, he met with students and offered them a firsthand glimpse into his semi-truck. Emphasizing perseverance and determination, Brandon shared a powerful message: despite being Deaf, one can accomplish anything.
Brandon Thomas Londo also stood among a select group of deaf individuals granted exemptions by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) from the standard hearing requirements for interstate commercial drivers. These exemptions, which allowed Mr. Londo to lawfully operate property-carrying commercial motor vehicles across state lines, were issued based on individual safety evaluations and were valid for a two-year period.
