Response to Recent Video

Dear Abel,

We regret that we must address this matter once again. This is now the fourth time this situation has been brought to our attention, and we feel it is necessary to respond directly to your recent video in order to clarify facts, correct inaccuracies, and set the record straight.

First, we want to apologize if anything posted by Deaf Truckers United (DTU) has made you feel uncomfortable. We respect your decision if you prefer not to engage with our organization. However, if that is the case, we ask a simple question: why not simply scroll past our content instead of publicly criticizing, mocking, or insulting DTU? Engaging in behavior that appears bullying or aggressive toward another organization does not align with professionalism, respect, or responsible online conduct.

We also want to understand the motivation behind your actions. Is this behavior intended to gain followers, views, or engagement on your platform? DTU does not compete for popularity or aim to prove whose page is “better.” Our mission is clear: provide accurate information, support our community, and maintain professional standards. Focusing energy on attacking others rather than producing meaningful content on your own platform is counterproductive and reflects poorly on your approach.

Next, we want to clarify the circumstances that prompted your criticisms. If your reaction stems from something posted on our website, it is important to note that, from our perspective, the interaction was initiated by you. DTU has only responded to content you publicly shared. We have no other means of contacting you directly whether through DPT, D4E, or any other channels so this platform remains the primary way to communicate until direct contact is possible.

Additionally, we want to address a statement you openly admitted in one of your videos: “It’s none of your business.” We disagree. Matters involving Ashley, former administrators, or DTU are indeed our business. Your personal opinion or involvement does not give you the authority to make public claims about our organization or its operations. Our website posts are factual and independent of your content, and we ask that you respect the boundaries of DTU’s administration and history.

DTU has been established for many years. We have built extensive resources, cultivated strong connections with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and are preparing announcements regarding new contractors. We actively participate in FMCSA discussions and roundtable events. DTU is not here to play games, create drama, or compete for attention. Our sole focus is on providing accurate information, professional guidance, and meaningful support to the community we serve.

We also wish to clarify several specific points from your video:

  1. Copyright Concerns: Our website contains a copyright notice. Copying, editing, or reposting portions of our videos or content without permission may constitute a copyright violation. Continued misuse of DTU’s intellectual property may result in formal action, including reporting the content to appropriate platforms.
  2. Hearing Exemptions: You criticized certain individuals for not having hearing exemptions. For context, the founder of D4E, Ashley, and the founder of DPT, Al, also do not have hearing exemptions. Singling out certain individuals while ignoring similar circumstances elsewhere is unfair, inconsistent, and misleading. DTU addresses these matters based on facts, not selective opinion or speculation.
  3. Personal Comments: In your video, you made remarks regarding your preference for a particular gender, especially women. Such statements can easily be misinterpreted and may come across as offensive. Public remarks of this nature should be carefully considered before being shared, as they reflect on your credibility and professionalism.
  4. Hearing Exemption Renewal Timeframe: You stated that hearing exemption renewals must be submitted “no sooner than 90 days and no later than 30 days before expiration.” FMCSA confirms that the correct timeframe is based on the 90-day mark. The “no later than 30 days” statement is inaccurate and has caused unnecessary confusion. Mistakes happen; we are not here to bully or insult but they do not justify insulting, belittling, or publicly shaming others. Respectful discussion and accurate information are always expected.
  5. Claims That DTU Is “Not Helping”: You have publicly stated that DTU is not helping the community. This is incorrect. DTU continuously provides resources, guidance, and support to countless individuals. Our website has recently been updated with improved information and resources. Since you are not an admin, you do not have visibility into our operations. Criticizing DTU’s efforts without firsthand knowledge is inaccurate and unfair.
  6. Content Authorship: You claimed that one of our admins is the sole author of content on our website. This is false. Every piece of content published by DTU results from collaborative work by the entire team. Articles and posts go through discussion, additions, edits, and review by multiple team members and are approved collectively. Claiming single authorship misrepresents DTU’s operations and undermines the teamwork that defines our organization.
  7. Racist Content and Tim’s Post: Regarding your mention of racist elements in posts by Tim, it was Ashley who approved those posts. However, we have been unable to verify the vlogs you referenced, as they are old, and the content may have been posted by DPT rather than DTU. You may want to double-check your sources to avoid misattribution.
  8. Professionalism: You accused DTU of being unprofessional; however, DPT has itself demonstrated unprofessional conduct. Specifically, DPT has allowed inappropriate vlogs including content that is bullying or insulting in nature to remain publicly available, while simultaneously removing vlogs that offered positive contributions. Furthermore, the use of the term “Professional” in the group’s name is misleading, as these actions do not align with accepted standards of professional behavior.
  9. Admin Role: You have mentioned that one of our admins is a secretary; this is incorrect, as she is actually the treasurer, not the secretary.

DTU stands firmly on three core principles: professionalism, respect, and accuracy. These principles guide everything we do, and we expect anyone engaging with DTU, whether on social media or elsewhere, to uphold the same standards. Constructive criticism is welcome when it is respectful, fact-based, and professionally presented. Personal attacks, public disparagement, or the spread of misinformation are unacceptable and will not be ignored.

Moving forward, we ask that all communication regarding DTU be conducted in a professional, respectful, and factually accurate manner.

Sincerely,

Deaf Truckers United Team
